Adding Members to a Project
Learn how to add members to a Foreman project by inviting users via email, assigning roles, and managing access through the Members panel.
Adding members to a project in Foreman is straightforward. You can invite users by email address and assign them one or more ACC roles during the process.
Prerequisites
Before adding members, make sure you have:
- An active Autodesk Construction Cloud account connected to Foreman
- Project Admin or Account Admin access to the target project
- The email address of the person you want to add
Step-by-step guide
Select your project -- From the Foreman dashboard, choose the hub and project you want to manage from the project selector.
Open the Members panel -- Navigate to the project members section. You will see the current list of members and their assigned roles.
Click Add Member -- Click the Add Member button to open the member invitation form.
Enter the member's email address -- Type the email address of the user you want to add. This must match the email associated with their Autodesk account.
Assign roles -- Select one or more roles to assign to the new member. Available roles depend on your project's configuration and may include:
- Project Admin -- Full control over project settings, members, and content.
- Project Manager -- Manages day-to-day project operations and member workflows.
- VDC Manager -- Oversees virtual design and construction coordination.
- Document Manager -- Controls document workflows, uploads, and folder permissions.
- Project Member -- Standard access to project files and assigned areas.
Submit -- Click Submit to send the invitation. The member will be added to the project and can begin accessing it immediately if they already have an Autodesk account.
If the email address is not associated with an existing Autodesk account, the user will receive an invitation to create one before they can access the project.
Verifying the addition
After submitting, the new member should appear in the project members list. You can confirm their roles are correct by reviewing the role column next to their name.
