Navigating Hubs, Projects, and Folders
Learn how Autodesk Construction Cloud organizes files into hubs, projects, and folders, and how to navigate and switch between them in Foreman’s File Browser.
Autodesk Construction Cloud organises documents in a strict hierarchy. Understanding this structure helps you navigate Foreman's File Browser efficiently.
ACC Hierarchy
Account
└── Hub
└── Project
└── Folder
└── Files / Subfolders
- Account — your organisation's Autodesk account.
- Hub — a grouping within the account (often maps to a business unit or region).
- Project — a construction project containing all its documents, members, and settings.
- Folder — a directory inside a project. Folders can be nested to any depth.
Switching Hubs and Projects
When you first open the File Browser, Foreman loads your available hubs. Select a hub to see its projects, then select a project to enter its folder structure.
To switch to a different hub or project, use the hub and project selectors at the top of the File Browser.
You will only see hubs and projects that your Autodesk account has been granted access to. If a project is missing, ask your ACC administrator to add you as a member.
Using the Folder Tree
The left-hand Folder Tree displays a collapsible hierarchy of all folders in the current project.
- Expand a folder — click the arrow icon next to a folder name to reveal its subfolders.
- Select a folder — click the folder name itself to load its contents in the right-hand file list.
- Collapse a branch — click the arrow icon again to hide subfolders and reduce visual clutter.
The tree remembers which branches you have expanded during your session, so you can move between folders without losing your place.
Breadcrumbs
A breadcrumb trail appears above the file list showing your current path from the project root down to the selected folder. Click any segment in the breadcrumb to jump directly to that level.
Bookmark a deep folder URL to jump straight to it next time without navigating through the entire tree.
