AI Features

Explore AI-powered features across all Project Matrix steps.

AI across the Project Matrix

Foreman integrates AI-powered features throughout the Project Matrix wizard to help you configure projects faster and with fewer errors. Every AI result is previewed before acceptance — nothing is applied automatically.

All AI features are available in Demo Mode — try them without signing up. Demo AI requests are rate-limited to 20/hour.

AI features by step

Step 1: Role Value Suggestions

Describe your project (sector, scale, type) and the AI generates tailored L1, L2, and L3 values.

  • Industry-specific party, function, and discipline recommendations.
  • Merge with existing values or replace them entirely.

Step 1: Description Generation

Generates short, relevant descriptions for each L1, L2, and L3 value. You have the option to overwrite existing descriptions or only fill in blanks.

Step 1: Non-Standard Role Restructuring

When importing a CSV, roles that don't follow the Party - Function - Discipline format are listed as non-standard. AI can restructure them:

  • Select up to 100 non-standard roles and click AI: Restructure.
  • The AI analyses each role name in context of your existing L1/L2/L3 values, preferring reuse over inventing new values.
  • Returns an editable table with suggested Party, Function, and Discipline for each role, plus a confidence rating.
  • New values the AI introduces are highlighted so you can review them before merging.
  • Processed in batches of 15 with a live progress indicator.
  • Subscribers can download a Migration CSV mapping original roles to their new structured names.

Step 2: Override & Role Group Suggestions

AI recommends per-party L2/L3 restrictions based on party and discipline names, providing a clear rationale for each suggestion.

  • Override suggestions with individual accept/dismiss controls.
  • Role group suggestions with adjustable match modes.
  • Duplicates of existing groups are automatically hidden.

Step 3: Display Name Placeholders

AI-generated placeholder suggestions appear in the display name input fields. These serve as helpful guides; simply type in the field to accept or modify them.

Step 4: Folder Template Suggestions

AI generates folder templates based on your matrix values and a standards selection (e.g., ISO 19650, PAS 1192).

  • Includes CDE status folders (WIP, Shared, Published, Archive).
  • Review suggestions with checkboxes and choose to replace or add to your existing templates.

Step 5: L2 Permission Overrides

AI suggests per-function (L2) permission level overrides based on standard industry roles. For example, a "BIM Lead" might be suggested for Full Control while a "General" role gets View/Download.

  • Per-function overrides for both org+discipline and org-only tiers.
  • Grid view with intuitive dropdowns for each function.
  • Ability to clear all overrides with a single click.

Data privacy

Project data is only sent to the AI when you explicitly trigger a suggestion. The AI does not store or learn from your specific project configurations, ensuring your data remains private and secure.
