Using the File Browser
Learn how to navigate and manage Autodesk Construction Cloud documents using Foreman’s File Browser with its two-panel layout, sorting options, and detailed file views.
Foreman's File Browser gives you a familiar two-panel Explorer layout for navigating your Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) documents. The left panel displays a collapsible Folder Tree, while the right panel shows the file list for the currently selected folder.
Two-Panel Layout
| Panel | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Left — Folder Tree | Displays the full folder hierarchy. Click a folder to expand it and reveal subfolders. Selecting a folder loads its contents on the right. |
| Right — File List | Shows files and subfolders inside the selected folder. Each row displays the item name, type, size, last modified date, and version. |
Sorting the File List
Click any column header in the file list to sort by that column. Click the same header again to toggle between ascending and descending order. Sortable columns include:
- Name — alphabetical sort.
- Type — groups files by extension.
- Size — smallest to largest (or reverse).
- Last Modified — newest or oldest first.
Sort by "Last Modified" descending to quickly find the most recently updated documents in a busy folder.
Viewing File Details
Select a file in the list to view its details, including version history, file size, and the user who last modified it. From the detail view you can download the file or inspect previous versions.
Switching to Search
Click the Search tab at the top of the Files page (or use the sidebar link) to switch to the cross-project file search. Search supports wildcards, regex, size and folder path filters, custom attribute queries, and much more. See the file search guide for full details.
