Project Matrix Overview
Learn what the Project Matrix is and how it streamlines ACC project setup.
What is the Project Matrix?
The Project Matrix is Foreman's central configuration tool for Autodesk Construction Cloud projects. It lets you define every aspect of project setup — roles, folders, permissions, and access — in a single, structured workspace, then deploy those configurations to one or many ACC projects.
A single matrix can be copied across multiple projects, ensuring consistency across your entire ACC account.
How it works
The Project Matrix wizard guides you through five sequential steps, each building on the last:
Roles Matrix
Define parties (Level 1), functions (Level 2), and disciplines (Level 3). Import from CSV or use AI suggestions.
Overrides & Role Groups
Restrict which functions and disciplines are available per party, and create catch-all role groups for permission consolidation.
Display Names
Optionally map party codes to human-readable labels for use in folder names.
Folder Structure
Design folder templates with placeholders that expand into full hierarchies, then deploy to ACC.
Permissions
Assign folder-level permissions to roles using strategy presets and AI-powered suggestions.

Getting started
To create your first Project Matrix, navigate to Create Project Folders in the sidebar and select a hub and project. The wizard will guide you through each step.
If you already have a matrix on another project, use the Copy Matrix feature to start from an existing configuration rather than building from scratch.
