Display Names
Customise how roles appear in ACC with display name templates.
Step 3 — Display Names
Display Names is an optional step that lets you map each Level 1 party to a human-readable label. These labels are used in folder names when the "Use display names" toggle is enabled in Step 4.
How it works
A table lists every Level 1 party value with an input field for its display name. For example:
| Party | Display Name | |
|---|---|---|
| AP1 | → | Meridian Infrastructure |
| AP2 | → | Greenfield Consulting |
| Employer | → | (not mapped) |
As you type a display name, the input field gets a green border to indicate it's been populated. A clear button (X) appears to remove the mapping. A summary line at the bottom shows how many parties have been mapped (e.g., "2 of 3 parties mapped").
AI-suggested placeholders
When you first visit this step, the AI generates suggested display names that appear as input placeholders (greyed-out text). These are not applied automatically — type in the field to accept or modify them.
Where display names are used
Display names affect folder expansion in Step 4. When the Use display names for folders toggle is on, the XXX placeholder in folder templates expands using the display name instead of the raw party code. For example, a folder template Documents / XXX would produce Documents / Meridian Infrastructure instead of Documents / AP1.
This step is entirely optional. If you skip it, folder templates will use the raw party names as entered in Step 1.
