Why matrix-based folders beat copy-paste
The traditional way to start a construction project is to open last project's folder tree, duplicate it, and rename things. Three weeks later somebody finds that one discipline is missing, one phase is duplicated, and three folders have permissions copied over from the old job.
A matrix approach separates what you have (parties, phases, work types) from how it's combined (flat, nested, phased). You describe the project once; the structure is generated deterministically. When a party is added or a phase changes, you regenerate instead of renaming.
What this tool doesn't do (yet)
- Permissions. You won't find role assignments here — the real product does this automatically, but on a public page it's too easy to ship a structure that exposes the wrong things.
- Deployment. This tool hands you a CSV/tree. Foreman's deployment engine actually creates the folders in your Autodesk Construction Cloud hub, complete with nested permissions, in a single pass.
- Template reuse. The full product saves matrices as templates shared across your team so that every new project starts from the same correct structure.
Pro tip: copy the ASCII tree and paste it into your project kick-off minutes or team chat. Visual alignment catches missing phases faster than a spreadsheet.
Next step: in Foreman, deploy this structure directly to Forma (ACC), apply permissions by role, and pair it with metadata and QA checks from day one. Get started free.

Foreman takes your matrix, creates every folder in your Autodesk Construction Cloud hub, applies the right permissions, and layers QA/metadata checks on top. 14-day trial, no credit card.
